Reconstitution guide

Lyophilized peptides arrive as a dry powder or film and must be reconstituted with a sterile diluent before use in the lab. Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) is the standard choice for multi-draw vials.

Step by step

1. Allow both the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
2. Swab both rubber stoppers with an alcohol wipe and let them dry.
3. Draw your chosen volume of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
4. Inject the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial — do not spray it directly onto the peptide.
5. Let the vial sit and swirl gently; do not shake. The peptide should dissolve into a clear solution within a few minutes.

Storage after reconstitution

• Keep lyophilized vials at −20 °C until reconstitution.
• Store the working solution at 2–8 °C and protect it from light.
• Use within the stability window noted on the lot COA — typically about 28 days for most sequences.
